The Edgefield County Senior Citizens Council is a private non-profit, non-governmental organization (501 (c) 3 that has been providing services for Edgefield County Citizens over the age of 60 since 1972.

This area's beautiful surroundings and safe atmosphere attract many seniors. There is also a significant amount of affordable senior housing. We are a large geographic area in rural South Carolina and while some of the 3,500 senior residents may never need any of our services, at least one in four of the senior residents relies on our help at some point in his or her life.

As we enter the 21st century, we remember that two thirds of all women and men now live beyond the age of 65 and comprise the fastest growing segment of our population today.
